Artist statement…

Working from her PNW studio, Samantha creates work that is enigmatic and elegiac, yet revealing and evocative as she layers rich colors and textures from a variety of mediums into form.

Her work consists of oil, acrylic, and water paints. She will include mediums such as ink, alcohol, wax, graphite, charcoal, oil or chalk stick, and any medium that fits her fancy for individual project such as pebbles, glass, molten metal, clay, etc.

Her finished pieces are a, more often than not, select color palette with meticulous line work. When projects allow surface texture, her layered technique shines. Samantha’s body of work allows for innovation and often changes to fit the work in front of her.
